Work notes
A closer look at the delivery decisions, technical tradeoffs, and product constraints behind this work.
Shipping across gaming, SaaS, and product engineering work
At Optic Power, I worked as a senior full stack engineer across several products at once. The throughline was consistent: build dependable software for teams that needed product momentum, technical depth, and steady delivery in a fully remote environment.
⚠️ Core challenge
The hard part was not just writing code across several stacks. It was keeping quality and momentum intact while context-switching between client products with different business models, technical constraints, and delivery expectations. The work had to stay adaptable without becoming fragmented.
🎯 What I owned
- End-to-end product engineering across architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring for multiple clients in parallel.
- Frontend and backend delivery spanning
React.js,Next.js,Node.js,GraphQL,PostgreSQL, andReact Native. - Performance and maintainability work around APIs, query bottlenecks, UI modularization, and state management.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and distributed engineering teams shipping in agile sprints.
📈 Key outcomes
- 40% better API performance after refactoring bottlenecks and improving database-query efficiency.
- Faster front-end experiences through lazy loading, modularization, and cleaner state normalization.
- Multiple production launches in parallel without losing sight of testing, reliability, or developer experience.
💡 Project spotlight
- Team Liquid: contributed to fan rewards and engagement systems tied to streams, events, and social activity, including YouTube and Twitch-related integrations.
- NurtureBoss: worked on automated communication flows, third-party integrations, and the infrastructure behind email and SMS delivery.
- Stardust.gg: helped build an OAuth-focused React component library and onboarding flows for gaming and Web3 products.
🛠️ Tech stack
- Frontend:
React.js,Next.js,Redux,Redux Toolkit,Redux Sagas,Styled Components,TailwindCSS - Backend and data:
Node.js,Express.js,GraphQL,MongoDB,PostgreSQL,Elixir,Phoenix - Mobile and delivery:
React Native,Docker,AWS,GCP,CI/CD,Jest,Vitest,Sentry
🤝 Why it mattered
Optic Power sharpened my full-stack range. It pushed me to move comfortably between front-end polish, backend performance, third-party integrations, and architecture while staying grounded in what each product actually needed.
